To whomever this may concern,
I am interested in finding a position at the PGA employment services where I can use my skills as a sports instructor and improve my knowledge of the sport golf.
I have graduated from Jackson College with my associates degree to become a gold instructor. After many hours studying and preparing myself for what is next to come, I have accomplished my goal. During this time at Jackson College I have taken courses that will benefit me for my future plans to become a sports instructor. I have practiced the skills needed to become a sports instructor and have been taught the correct way to teach other people.
If you are looking for someone who puts all their time and dedication into their work, I am the person you are looking for. I would love to get an opportunity to explore the different locations I could work at. Regardless of whether you are able to help me in my job search, I appreciate your time in considering my request.
Sincerely,
Mackenzie Brockie

A sports instructor demonstrates the skills necessary to play a specific sport such as golf, tennis, and/or basketball. Sports instructors can work individually on an athlete or in groups in various settings such as a dome, resort, health resort, parks or community centers. Sports instructors teach their students the rules of the game, basic moves, techniques, and how to use the equipment with etiquette.
To become a sports instructor the requirements are vague to start out. When deciding what specific sport you would like to instruct is when you’d figure out the requirements needed. Most have minimum to no requirements but it is still dependent on what you chose.
Sports instructors assess each player’s ability and may tell them how to fix their ways to better improve their game. Instructors inspect their equipment and to make sure it’s legal and safe to use. Instructors are responsible for ensuring that rules and regulations are followed by all participants, regardless of the level of competition. To prove their work most instructors maintain records of their participants training records.
Sports instructors are employed by sports associations, college athletic departments, holiday resorts, health spas, and parks. Some instructors are self-employed and are giving private lessons to many different clients throughout their city or even across the country. The working conditions vary as to the weather and the type of conditions the player would like to learn in. They have indoor facilities where players can be taught and safe from the harsh weather, where others may want to prepare in harsh conditions so the instructor would have to prepare to teach accordingly.
The working hours may vary, a part-time sports instructor may only teach for 2 or 3 hours a week, while a full-time sports instructor may teach up to 20 hours a week or more. It’s very important to stay well conditioned so nothing can go wrong while giving your lessons, to wear proper equipment and to give advice as to how to prevent injury from occurring later in the years.
Your earnings depend on how much you work but the majority of sports instructors work either seasonally or part-time. Then they can either get paid by salary, hour, or by the lesson. Sports instructors wages can vary from minimum wage to nearly $50 an hour depending on your reputation and/or technology that you’re given. Their earnings can range from $16,000 to $70,000 a year or more.
The education and training requirements vary depending on the sport, but it’s a priority to have a solid background in the sport that you would want to teach. In order to get involved in the sports instructor business you need to contact the local governing body or association for the sport you are interested in teaching. They will tell you the requirements, which often involve some training and certification to become an official instructor. Depending on where you want to work, you may also be required to have a college degree to up your advances in the instructor business. Relevant areas of study include physical education, physiology, kinesiology, and exercise science. The main professional organization related to being a sports instructor is national athletic trainer association, otherwise known as NATA.
Social and psychological factors are not necessarily needed in this career. Although, it is good to be able to understand the thoughts and differences between each individual you may be working with. Employment in this field would be found mainly in a climate that is warm year round. Finding a job in this career is simple if you look in the right places and get reputation out to the public.
To me being promoted is based on hard work. In this career you are not technically promoted. You’re accumulative gross salary will grow as your name and reputation grows. As more people find out about you it is likely for you to have more clients. The higher the ranking of the clients will cause your pay and business to gain.
Jobs related to this career are an athletic trainer, sports coach, fitness instructor, school teacher and so on. There are many different occupations related to being a sports instructor, all in different ways but I find this one the mot interesting and enjoy full.
While interviewing Scott, he told me he didn’t’ work in a warm climate. He worked somewhere that was cold during the months of November and December. He stated “my busy months are from April to October. I rest in November and December, and from January to March I teach golf lessons indoors and work on my game.” Working in a cold climate isn’t bad because you can still travel during the winter time to teach or play golf. Scott had also mentioned that “my career enabled me to travel and play on all kinds of mini tours in the winter months. For example, I’ve played in Arizona, southern California, and the Carolinas.” I think that would be so much fun to do, especially while making money while doing it. My dream has always been to teach people things that I was taught and become successful like I was.
When I start my career I plan to have a fun and not dread going to work everyday. Being a sports instructor could do that for me and make me passionate about what I do. Therefore, I would be good at it and enjoy working everyday. This occupation fits me better than any other occupation I have researched and I hope to fulfill my dreams as a great sports instructor someday.
